ADMINISTRATION
Randi McCallum, RECE
Supervisor
Hi! My name is Randi and I am the Supervisor here, at Wonder Years Child Care.
I reside in Burgessville with my fiancé Tyler, our two daughters Amelia and Adeline and our chocolate lab, Echo. I graduated from Fanshawe college with a diploma in Early Childhood Education, as well as a Child Development Practitioner diploma and I recently completed a Leadership in Early Childhood Education course through Fanshawe College, as well.
I have always had a love for children, so naturally, opening and operating a childcare centre was something that I actively dreamt of. To see that dream come to life, has been so fulfilling.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, going for walks and spending time outside. I can often be found working one of my other jobs - in the wedding industry or instructing children's bounce classes. I also enjoy working on DIY projects around the house, attending bounce classes or playing my new found obsession - pickleball.
Amanda Perks, RECE
Assistant Supervisor
My name is Amanda and I am the Assistant Supervisor. I joined Wonder Years in the fall of their opening year and have loved my time spent with the children and families here at Wonder Years! Starting in the preschool room gave me a fantastic foundation and I enjoyed covering shifts within other program rooms in the centre. When the Assistant Supervisor position became available, I jumped at the chance to take on a more active role in helping our centre grow and flourish.
I was born and raised in Tillsonburg area except for during post secondary school, where I attended St. Clair College. After getting my ECE, I returned to my hometown and started a family and began working. I have worked in various child care settings across Oxford County as well as for Thames Valley District School Board.
I have a busy life with my 2 teenagers, adult daughter, cat and dog. My children have always been in local sports which has me at soccer parks or football fields in the evenings. I enjoy reading, travelling, and attending concerts in my spare time, and of course spending time with my family and friends.

Allyson Nagy
Hello Everyone,
My name is Allyson and I am the children's cook here at Wonder Years.
I have have lived in Norwich for 16 years now, I have two grown sons I'm immensely proud of, two adorable grandchildren and two sweet fur babies.
I enjoy cooking as well as long walks, and great movies. I am beginning to enjoy all the seasons we experience with the exception summer being my favorite.
Sonia Singh
Hello! My name is Sonia, and I’m excited to be part of the Wonder Years Child Care team as a Cook, Prep Cook, and Baker.
I have a passion for cooking and baking and truly enjoy preparing fresh, nutritious, and delicious meals for children. I believe that mealtimes are an important part of a child’s day and can be a wonderful opportunity to introduce children to different foods, flavours, and healthy choices.
I take pride in preparing meals with care, keeping my kitchen organized and clean, and following food safety and dietary requirements. I also enjoy baking and creating homemade treats that children can look forward to.
I’m happy to be part of a team that provides children with a safe, caring, and positive environment where they can learn, grow, and feel at home. I look forward to getting to know the children and families and contributing to their wonderful experience at Wonder Years!
PROGRAM EDUCATORS
Kristen Bates
Hi! My name is Kristen Bates,
I have been part of our centre family since we opened, and I feel very lucky to have spent so many years getting to know and grow alongside the children, families, and amazing team here.
I am a mom to two incredible daughters, who I am so proud to have raised into kind, responsible, and caring young women. I am also a very proud aunt and love spending time with my nieces. Family is very important to me, and I love being surrounded by the people I care about most.
When I’m not at the centre, you can usually find me enjoying the outdoors! I love spending time at the cottage, hunting, gardening, riding my e-bike and simply enjoying time outside with my family. I love the peacefulness of the cottage and the opportunity to slow down, spend time together, and enjoy the little things.
I am so grateful to be part of our centre and to have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the children I work with. I look forward to continuing to create lots of special memories with our centre families!
Mikayla Comiskey, RECE
Hello! My name is Mikayla and I have been part of the team here since March of 2022! Prior to working here, I graduated with honours from Fanshawe College in Simcoe in 2018 and received my Early Childhood Education diploma. I live in Norwich with my husband, our two children and 2 cats! You can currently find me in the Preschool room, but I have also been fortunate enough to work in our other Preschool program at our secondary location, and the Toddler room where my Wonder Years journey began.
I love creating all types of engaging crafts and activities that incorporate opportunities for creativity, exploration and inclusivity for all age groups and learning styles - some of them can get quite messy.
In my spare time (which is very little), I love sitting down with a good book, enjoying down time with my family and enjoying all types of concerts.

Kailee Mabee, RECE
My name is Kailee and I am one of the educators here at Wonder Years.
I am recently back from maternity leave and I am loving getting to know all the new families that have joined us while I was away!
If I'm not at work playing and learning with your littles, I am at home doing it with mine.
I first found my love for working with children at a young age. I attended Niagara College for a three year program in the Child and Youth Worker field.
After graduating from Niagara College, I accepted a position as a preschool teacher with a local child care centre. I then knew I wanted to return to school to continue my education in child care. I have since then obtained my ECE and Child Development Practitioner diploma.
I look forward to getting to know your children and watching them master new skills by learning and exploring through play.
Jillian McPherson
My name is Jillian McPherson, and I’m so excited to be a part of the team as a Supply Staff Member! I grew up in Otterville and have always loved being a part of and giving back to my local community.
I have a degree in Child and Youth Studies from Brock University and recently completed my Bachelor of Education in the UK. I have always had a passion for working with children and have experience in teaching, tutoring, childcare, summer camps, and after-school programs. I love creating fun, welcoming, and inclusive environments where children feel comfortable learning, exploring, and being themselves.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, shopping, travelling, and spending time with my family and friends. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of the children and families and being a part of the Wonder Years community!
Martina McCallum
My name is Martina, I live in Norfolk County with my spouse and our spoiled pup, hoping to soon add another fur baby into our family!
I am proud to be part of the team here at Wonder Years. I have been working here for over 4 years now and have spent most of that time in the School Age program. I am so excited to now work with our younger friends in Preschool!
I have always been a passionate animal lover as I grew up surrounded by horses and originally thought I would pursue a career in veterinary medicine. However, my love for working with children led me to the field of early childhood education, where I have found great joy in supporting children’s growth, learning, and development.
In my free time I enjoy many sports including slo-pitch, and working alongside my spouse with his business. I dream to someday own land and start an animal rehabilitation for Equine and K9s.
Alyssa Esseltine, RECE
My name is Alyssa, I received my Registered Early Childhood Education diploma from Georgian College with honour roll.
I have experience working with toddler, preschool and school age children. I am currently working in a preschool room.
In my spare time I enjoy camping, fishing, puzzles and a good board game with my amazing family. My husband and I have 2 children and we all love animals. We have a precious chocolate lab, two cats and two rabbits. I enjoy learning and growing alongside your children. Thank you for the opportunity to care and love your children.
Amanda Harrison, RECE
Hi! I’m a proud mom of three and have been working in childcare for just under 10 years. After years of hands-on experience in the field, I graduated last year and am now a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE).
Being both a mom and an educator has given me a deep understanding of how important it is for children to feel safe, loved, supported, and encouraged to be themselves. I love watching children learn, grow, and discover the world around them, and I’m passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels valued and excited to come each day.
I look forward to building meaningful relationships with the children and families I have the privilege of working with!
Nicole Morgan, RECE
Hello, my name is Nicole Morgan, I have been a Registered Early Childhood Educator here at Wonder Years since February 2025. I have worked as an RECE since 2014 and continued my education and have obtained my diploma in Autism Behavioural Sciences.
I am very creative, and I love creating classroom environments that invite children in and encourage them to explore the environment around them. I believe in risky play and allowing children to explore, play and learn within safe boundaries. My calm and down to earth personality helps calm busy environments and creates a classroom setting that is nurturing and welcoming.
Before starting my journey at Wonder Years, I recently moved to Norwich with my husband, son and 2 dogs.
In my free time, I often enjoy playing slo-pitch, going fishing or just relaxing at home.
Jillian Maxwell
Hi, my name is Jillian and I have been part of the Wonder Years team for the past year! I grew up in Norfolk County and have a background in Health Sciences. I completed the Pre-Health Sciences program at Mohawk College and spent a year studying Medical Sciences at Brock University. Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to work with children of different ages before finding my home in the toddler room.
I really enjoy watching the children learn, grow, and show more of their spark each day. I love creating fun, hands-on activities and getting to know each child’s personality and interests. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going for walks, exploring new places, and being outdoors. I’m so happy to be part of the Wonder Years team and look forward to continuing to learn and grow alongside the children!
Carissa Jossee
Hello! My name is Carissa Joosse, and I am one of the supply staff members here at Wonder Years! I live in Norwich and am very excited to be a part of the Wonder Years team. I have always enjoyed being around children and love getting to know their different personalities, interests, and unique ways of learning and growing. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with children of all different age groups and gain new experiences along the way. I look forward to building relationships with the children, helping them feel comfortable and supported, and being a positive part of their day. I am so happy to be a part of the Wonder Years team and look forward to making lots of fun and unforgettable memories with the children and staff!
Brooklyn Diaz
My name is Brooklyn Diaz, I am a supply educator here at Wonder Years! Before starting at Wonder Years, I have always enjoyed coaching and working with children. I am currently in college at Fanshawe working towards my Pre-Health Sciences certificate. My goal is to go into the medical field after post-secondary.
In my free time I enjoy soccer, sports, going to concerts, and spending time with my family and friends.
I love being able to float through classrooms and see all the children. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with the families and children at Wonder Years.
Abigail Winkels
Hi! My name is Abby, and I have been working in childcare for over 9 years. I’ve been part of the Wonder Years team for the past three years.
I love getting to know each child, watching them grow, and seeing their personalities and imaginations shine.
I am passionate about creating a safe and nurturing environment and building security through positive relationships with the children I work with. Through these relationships I strongly believe children gain confidence in themselves, their interactions and the friendships they create.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and being an auntie to my many many nieces and nephews!
Hailee Beckett
Hi, my name is Hailee and I have worked here at Wonder Years for almost 3 years now! I currently live in Tillsonburg with my boyfriend and our two cats! I have had the joy of working in all classrooms at Wonder Years over the years and I am now working as a support educator, where I get to love and care for your littles in both the Toddler and Preschool 1 program rooms. When I am not at work, you can almost always find me either on the diamonds playing softball or spending time with family. I grew up in a large family with lots of little cousins and was known for always having a baby on my hip! I have known since a young age that I wanted to work with small children and truly feel most at home getting to spend my days playing, teaching and caring for your little ones! I love getting to know all the new families that join us every year and look forward to continuing to get to watch all the children at Wonder Years flourish and grow into the best little people.
Margaret Knelsen, RECE
I love working with children and creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every child feels comfortable being themselves. I believe children learn through play, exploration, relationships, and having opportunities to make their own choices. I especially enjoy following children’s interests and finding ways to turn their ideas and curiosity into meaningful learning experiences.
As a supply staff member, I enjoy getting to know different classrooms, meeting new friends, and jumping into whatever the day brings! I love the variety that comes with being a supply educator and the opportunity to connect with so many different children and educators.
When I’m not working as an ECE, I keep busy running my own small cleaning business, where I provide residential and commercial cleaning services. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching hockey, and keeping busy with all kinds of projects.
Karena Roelofsen, RECE
Hi! My name is Karena and I have been a Registered Early Childhood Educator since the spring of 2015. I have worked with many different age groups and I work hard at implementing the 4 foundations of learning (belonging, engaging, expression, and well-being). My husband and I live in Norfolk County in the country with our son and we are expecting baby # 2 at the end of 2026 or early 2027. When I am not at work, you can find me spending time with family, going for walks, drinking chai lattes and shopping.
Jaime Dejaegher
My name is Jaime Dejaegher, and I am proud to be part of the Wonder Years team! I joined Wonder Years in the summer of 2026 as a supply staff member, where I have had the opportunity to work alongside children and educators across different classrooms and age groups.
I am currently completing my education with the goal of becoming a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE). Following my ECE education, I hope to continue my studies and become an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), with a passion for working with young children and supporting their learning development.
I look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and create meaningful experiences with the children and families at Wonder Years!
Emily Stratford, CYW
Hi! My name is Emily Stratford. I've been with Wonder Years as a pre-school 2 teachers since December 2025. I graduated from the Child and Youth Care Professionals program at Mohawk College in 2018.
I live with my husband and two children, but we'll be adding twins to our family either the end of this year or early 2027!
When I'm not working, I enjoy going for trail walks, roasting marshmallows at a bonfire, and ATV rides with my husband.
Family is very important to me and the well-being of all children! I hope to be a staple part of your child's development while here at Wonder Years!
